INTRODUCTION Thank you for choosing Roces inline skates! Roces is a leading company in the inline skate industry and one of
the most appreciated brands worldwide. Before wearing your skates for the first time we invite you to read the text below in order to
skate safely and get more fun! Keep this manual for future use. DIN NORM Roces inline skates are in accordance with the regulations
of DIN EN 13843 and belong to Class A for users whose weight is under 100kg and to Class B for users whose weight is under 60
kg. SKATE FOR YOUR HEALTH Skating is not only a funny activity you can do at the open air but it is also a sport with important
therapeutic effects on your body (and mind): - Neuromuscular development: it firms buttocks, hips, thighs, back, legs and arms. -
Organic development: while skating all your body is working to strengthen cardiac functions, respiratory system and homeostatic
balance. - Rehabilitation functions: favoring children motion coordination and eliminating impact shocks, skating is particularly
recommended in the case of post-traumatic recovery. For all the above mentioned qualities, skating is perfect for athletic training
both for team and individual sports. STREET RULES FOR SKATERS 1) Always wear the protective gear: helmet, elbow guards,
knee guards and wrist guards. 2) Always be sure you can turn and stop any moment. 3) Follow all the street rules. 4) Always be
prudent, control your speed and skate according to your skating skills. 5) Skate on the right side, be careful and pay attention to
pedestrians, dogs, cyclists and to other skaters. Pass on the left and before passing warn other people. 6) If you’re skating on the
streets open to traffic, pay attention to cars and follow their direction. Anyway, it’s better to avoid areas where traffic is very high. 7)
Don’t skate on dirty or wet surfaces, where water, oil or other liquids can make you loose the control. 8) Be careful when your skating
on the bumps: even for a high skilled skated it’s difficult to stop on a slope. 9) Never be dragged by cars or bicycles. 10) Always
check your skates before starting (including rocker washer, wheels, brake and brake pad, laces and buckles) 11) Don’t skate at night
or when it’s dark. 12) Never wear anything that diminishes your hearing or visual faculties. 13) Don’t skate if you drank alcohol. 14)
Kids should be overseen by adults while skating. PROTECTION AND SAFETY The correct use of the protective gear can preserve
you from traumatic events. The shops that sell Roces products can supply you with all the necessary stuff to skate safely (helmet,
knee pads, elbow pads, wristguards, protective shorts, back protector). Always check this stuff before skating, it must be in good
condition and wear it in the right way: for example, the protective function of the helmet is not guaranteed when it is not fixed in the
right way. BEFORE STARTING Before starting, please consider this checklist: - check the nuts that secure the wheels and make
sure they are tight. - Check the wheels and replace them if they present excessive wear. Rotate them often to obtain a more regular
wear and to increase their duration. - Check the brake and make sure it’s tight to the wheel frame. Change the brake pad if it’s wear
out beyond the line printed on it. - Don’t remove the brake since it’s very difficult to stop without it. Each user disclaims all responsibility
if skating without brake. - The bearings are “long-life” and “anti-dust” and do not need oil, grease or particular maintenance. When
they their effect is not good, replace them. - Check laces and buckles and replace them in case there are wear.- Check the wheel
frames. In case of any crack, replace them. - Remove with a file or with sandpaper any rough-edge surface that might be dangerous.
- If you believe that they’re not safe anymore, replace your pair of skates. - Don’t modify your pair of skates and don’t use spare parts
that are not built especially for your model. - Use socks. Don’t close laces and buckles too tight. - Keep your skates in a dry place.
Don’t expose them to extreme temperatures or to extreme sunshine. LET’S SKATE! While starting, always keep in mind that your
speed should be the proper speed in accordance with the place you’re skating, the visibility, and the presence of people around you.
Start skating where you can try the first steps calmly. No manual can teach you how to skate, but this manual suggests to learn
immediately to stop: you should lift the upper tip of the skate without lifting the rear wheel from the ground. Doing like this, the brake
pad will rub against the surface allowing you to stop (SEE IMAGES AT PAGE 20). CLEANING Use a damp cloth. You don’t need to
do this often. WARNING! Don’t modify your pair of skates and don’t use spare parts that are not built especially for your model. The
screws fixing the wheels can be unscrewed and screwed only twice. We suggest anyway to change them any time you change the
wheels. As for the screws fixing the frame to the shell, they can be unscrewed and screwed twice. In case you need to do this beyond
this frequency, we suggest the use of a thread lock compound. MAINTENANCE, WHEELS, FRAME, BRAKE For maintenance and
to replace the wheels, the frame or the brake see IMAGES AT PAGES 20. Roces disclaims all responsibility in case of accidents
ascribable to failure to comply with all the above mentioned hints, in case of wrong replacement of spare parts and in case of
modifications to the skates. Roces aggressive models are UFS compatible. THIS MANUAL IS VALID FOR ALL INLINE SKATES
MODELS BY ROCES. We wish you a great fun with Roces products and we invite you to visit www.roces.com to keep updated
about the news and in contact with the company.
